롯데뮤지엄은 《이강소:일어나고 사라지는》을 개최한다. 이번 전시는 한국 현대미술의 거장 이강소를 오늘날의 시선에서 새롭게 조명하며 회화, 조각, 설치 등 150여 점의 작품을 선보인다. 특히 조각과 판화 작품을 대규모로 구성하고, 한국화 신작을 최초 공개하며 시대와 매체를 넘나들며 확장해온 이강소의 예술세계를 폭넓게 보여준다. 전시명 ‘일어나고 사라지는’은 작품을 마주하는 순간마다 새로운 의미가 발생하고 변화하는 이강소의 작품세계를 함축한다. 이번 전시는 이러한 이강소의 예술관을 바탕으로 작가가 반세기 넘게 이어온 창작의 과정을 정면에 세운다.
완성된 결과물이 아니라 우연과 즉흥, 의도의 소거가 개입하는 과정을 조각·판화·회화를 넘나들며 추적함으로써 관객은 이강소의 세계관을 마치 돋보기로 들여다보듯 근접해서 마주하게 된다.
LOTTE Museum of Art presents 《LEE Kang So: Emergence and Dissolution》, a major exhibition spotlighting LEE Kang So, a representative figure in Korean contemporary art. Rather than simply showcasing his best-known works or retracing his historical career, the exhibition revisits the vital currents that have shaped his practice through decades of experimentation and philosophical reflection, bringing their enduring significance into dialogue with audiences today. 《LEE Kang So: Emergence and Dissolution》 reexamines Lee Kang So’s practice through a contemporary lens. The experiments he began decades ago are never confined to a particular moment in history; each encounter with a new era and a new audience gives rise to fresh meanings, awakening alternative ways of sensing the world. His work is not a finished result, but an ongoing process continually reinterpreted through its encounter with audiences.
